Who is The Research Doctor?

Dr. Kim Bercovitz once opened a fortune cookie that read: "You never hesitate to tackle the most difficult problems."

It was one smart cookie, since Kim, the President and Founder of The Research Doctor has never met a question she couldn't answer.

Over 18 years of practice, Kim has demystified tough research topics and connected with hard-to-reach groups. By bringing together competing perspectives and uncovering hidden agendas — she has developed a collaborative and transformative research experience that takes clients where they'd least expect — and leaves them inspired.

Kim's unique perspective on qualitative research builds on her experience as a social scientist/gerontologist, combined with Harvard training in negotiation and advanced study of community mediation. Kim earned a Ph.D. in Public Health Sciences from the University of Toronto's Faculty of Medicine where she is an Assistant Professor and has taught graduate research methods. She was also a Postdoctoral Fellow with the National Cancer Institute of Canada.

Kim has promoted qualitative research standards as a board member on the Market Research Intelligence Association's (MRIA) Qualitative Research Division. You can read more about Kim's work as well as her column for MRIA's VUE Magazine here.
